Skunks & Dogs
I haven't given an interesting blog in a long while, so I'll give you an interesting story about skunks and dogs.
If you know me, you already know I love animals and I currently own two dogs, Yukon the German Shephard and Lady the Terrier Mutt. These two lovely dogs really dislike any other creatures (including some people) in my backyard. They'll bark at them and occasionally try to nip at them. Ok...one day, a skunk happens to wander by and unbeknownst to the me and the rest of the family. Yukon decides to provoke the friendly skunk and got sprayed and just my luck, it happens right in front of my window. The perfume skunk slowly whiffs its way into my room and I smell it all night! I tried spraying air freshner and sprayed my nice perfume on my pillow so I didn't have to smell that stench. But no success....my room had a lingering smell for a few days. blah. Not fun. My poor mom (note: Yukon is her dog and she just happened to have time that day) also had to give Yukon a bath as well because he really really smelled.
Fast forward a month. I decide to let Lady outside for a little for her to get some energy out of her system before we turned in for bed. Big mistake. Again unbeknownst to me and the rest of the family, the skunks came out to play that night and Lady decided to have a big fit and started barking at them and - I'm guessing here - she probably tried to attack them. Once again perfume skunk started whiffing through my room. I started wondering which dog had done the awful deed. I was hoping it was Yukon since he's the outdoor dog and could stay out there if he got sprayed. If it was Lady, I was in for a long sleepless night of stink. Just my luck, it was lady! She was quite damp and my mistake. I picked her up and I went to give her a bath. I should have worn gloves.
I didn't realize it but my hands had skunk perfume all over which you couldn't tell if were smelling it everywhere. It didn't quite go away for two days and how do I know? I was hanging out with my boyfriend and he kept saying I smelled like skunk. So I took another shower and changed my clothes and he said I still smelled which really frustrated me since he kept giving me a disgusted look. Well, we somehow figured it out it was my hands since I picked up Lady when she had the skunk perfume all over. Just my luck. Just so I wouldn't go crazy, when I got a chance. I got some of my nice smelling lotion and used it quite liberally on my hands.
Lesson for the day: If a dog gets skunked, do not touch them.
Better lesson for the day: Get dogs that don't bark or attack skunks.

Lesson for Charles: Do not hang out with Stephanie anymore. She stinks... PEEEWEY!!
